One of the celebrity guests at the inaugural Estes Park Comic Con is Canadian-born actor Jed Rees. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed some of Rees’ roles and wanted to share some of my favorite characters played by Rees. (And, selfishly, come up with a list of movies I want to rewatch again soon.) Here we go!

“Teb” from Galaxy Quest – I think the Galaxy Quest was one of the most under-rated comedies of the late 90s. It had heart and humor and a plethora of witty one-liners that still make me giggle.

“Glen” from The Ringer – This was a movie that had “disaster” written all over it. I went in expecting a movie of -over-the-top Johnny Knoxville making fun of people with disabilities. But, as it turns out, I was pleasantly surprised. It turned out to be a cute, warm-hearted comedy with a pretty good message in it. And the loveable “Glen” had a big part of making it that way.

“The Recruiter” from Deadpool – The recruited was a straight-out-of-a-comic-book, creepy, government agent. It was a small part, but Jed nailed it.

Some other appearances I was tickled to see him in:

  • “Alan” on the Bones episode, “The Brain in the Bot” (Season 12)
  • “Ned” on the Chuck episode, “Chuck versus Santa Clause.” (Season 2)
  • “Mr. Flynn” on the Castle episode, “Crossfire.” (Season 8)

According to IMDB, Jed Rees was born in 1970 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He’s hads been a part of numerous, TV shows, movies, shorts, and theatrical performances. Including X-Files, Outer Limits, Fear, Two Pianos Four Hands, Galaxy Quest, Deadpool, The Chris Isaak Show, The Ringer, Elizabethtown, Men With Brooms, Chuck, CSI, Pup Star,The Ghost Whisperer, and Pretty Little Liars.

Jed will be in our neck of the woods in just a few short weeks at Estes Park Comic Con. (Complete with a free showing of Galaxy Quest in the park on July 15.)
