I’m addicted to cosplay music videos. There is just something about the cross between really cool costumes and great music that entertain me for hours. Put a catchy song mixed with some panning camera work, and…shiny….sorry, I got distracted by looking at my favorite ones to put on this blog. Shout out to Sneaky Zebra; they do great work!  There are many great videographers out there that capture solid video and costumes, so check them out if you haven’t or re-watch some of your favorites. You can start with three of my favorites below.

This was the first Cosplay video I watched where I was simply glued to the screen. I adore how the music coordinates with the video. For example, the lyrics of “Everybody’s Angels” by Down with Webster talks about “Everybody needs a guardian” right when they show Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy and later in the video, the Mad Moxxi Borderland’s cosplayer yells in perfect timing  with the song. Solid work there.
Also, since it is San Diego Comic Con, there are some seriously impressive and creative cosplays featured in the video. I aspire to one day be able to create cosplays like the Transformers and Robot Chicken ones in this video. The cameos are also great. It’s always fun to see celebrities or cosplay you recognize. In this one I enjoyed seeing  Screen Team and Yaya Han among others. They add humor and intrigue and personality into all their videos.
The second video had me after just a few notes. Again, this video tied the music into the video. There is a subtle coordination with the song’s reference to America while they panned on Captain America’s shield.  Even the tempo of the song fits the music. When the song slows down, they have a slow motion shot of Elsa.  Sneaky Zebra also captured more awe inspiring cosplays at WonderCon in this video like Thanos, Chewbacca, Deadpool, Astrid with her dragon, and Voldemort among many others.
The third video made it on my list because of the choreography.  The video starts with a face off. Two groups, good and bad, walking toward each other to the beat of the music with a mix of slow and fast motion. Like with the other two videos, they obviously planned with the song in mind because when the song says, “come” one of the cosplayers gestures for the viewer to follow.  When the song mentions a siren singing, the viewers see a siren, the character, singing.
The characters even have party hats and are dancing when the song talks about joining the party.  These touches make the video engaging and tie into the game. There isn’t a variety of costumes since it is all related to the video game. Still, most of the Borderlands characters are there along with fight scenes and fire!

While writing this blog, Sneaky Zebra just posted a new video from Anime Expo, so I’m going to watch that now. You can too…shiny!

Ok…one more.  After I got done watching the new one from Sneaky Zebra, I came across this one from Drewpewpew and Kat too! Great cinematography!
