The Super Bowl is one of the biggest media events in the world and present one of the biggest (and most expensive) advertising opportunities on earth. Most brands and marketing agencies pull out all the stops the try and most the most memorable and most entertaining commercials. The 2020 ads, I feel, were far better that the past few years, but a few of them definitely stood out to me, especially with Rocket Mortgage Barbie Dream House commercial with Anna Kendrick and, a special appearance by He-Man and Skeletor.
Celebrity cameos, and nostalgia seemed to be the biggest pushes during Super Bowl LVI. We saw Jim Carrey as the Cable Guy for Verizon, Turk and JD from Scrubs re-uniting in song for T-Mobile, Dr. Evil and the Austin Powers crew back together, Paul Rudd and Seth Rogan re-living their ‘past’, and wild animals singing Salt N Pepa for Flamin’ Hot Cheetos and Doritos.
Did you know that ads during this game cost $6.5 million per 30-second ad? That equates to $217,000 per second!
