The wait is almost over for the trainers out there who have been training to become the greatest master out there. Legendary pokemon are finally coming to Pokemon Go this weekend!

If you find yourself in Chicago for the Pokemon Go event this weekend, you will have a chance to catch all kinds of pokemon and participate in an epic raid battle to catch a legendary pokemon. There is a catch, no pun intended, but the players at the July 23rd event in Chicago have to catch enough pokemon to unlock the raid. If they are successful in unlocking the raid and defeating the raid boss, players everywhere will be able to battle that legendary pokemon at their own local gyms. So if you can’t make it to Chicago, you will have a chance to get it.

We are not sure which pokemon it will be but we do know that this is the first of many that will be showing up this week. We also know that to take down a legendary pokemon, it is probably wise to team up with other players to take it down. It has also been said that the legendary pokemon are more for show once you capture it. As in, it will not be able to defend gyms.

I hope Chicago can pull this off as I am excited to see some new pokemon pop up around and in raid battles. Which legendary pokemon are you hoping to catch?
