Harry Potter Cosplay Challenge Accepted…

Sybill Trelawney - I put her in a green dress she had from Target, although I think pretty much any dress would work. I put her in a shawl which I had in 10th grade since the dress was sleeveless. Then, I tied a scarf to her head and teased her hair. The glasses we had from a previous costume, which was super lucky (Although, I think we could have printed out something like we did with Luna). more
Hermione Granger - For this one, I got a plain black T-shirt of my husband's and followed a "15 minute Harry Potter Robe" tutorial I found on Pinterest. Then, I used some T-shirt transfer paper for the Hogwarts symbol. I added a button. She already had a grey sweater, black skirt and white shirt, so that was easy. The tie I did end up buying from a thrift store. more
ellatrix Lestrange - For this, we used the shirt we bought for her X-23 costume at Denver Comic Con, a long black skirt, and a corset I had from a previous costume (tied in the back since she is much smaller than I am).more
Minerva Mcgonagall - I happened to have a witch hat, pin and a cloak already. The cloak is mine, way too big for my daughter, but it worked well for pictures. The hat we got on clearance at Spirit after Halloween last year and the pin was in my jewelry box, never worn, but kept “just in case I ever need it.” more
Death Eater - For this one, I did purchase a mask from a craft store, and then I painted it. The cloak is the one from Hermione turned inside out. The shirt is the same one from Bellatrix and then simple black pants. more
Ginny Weasley - Quidditch player - This was a red coat left unbuttoned at the bottom and turned inside out. I used the same pants and shirt from the Death Eater costume. The boots were ones she already had, and I grabbed the broom from the kitchen.more
Luna Lovegood: To put together this cosplay, we printed out some glasses off the internet and laminated them. (Yes, I own a laminator.) Pink is all the rage for young girls, so finding a pink sweater wasn’t difficult. We put her in a black skirt we got from a thrift store a few years back...luckily, she still fits into some of her 3T skirts. I had some blue leggings, which were really big, but worked for photos (not so much for a con). For the wand, we followed a tutorial on YouTube where you use hot glue, a chopstick, paint and a marble. more
