NDK (Nan Desu Kan) 2021 Cosplay Music Video

Have you been missing cosplay? Nan Desu Kan 2021 was our first con in forever! There were cosplays, there was fun.  It was our first con in forever, and it was a really good one! NDK did not disappoint and we were able to capture some of the amazing cosplays on display to make this little video showing off their work.

These are the top three of our favorite things about NDK this year: 

1. The new location at the Gaylord Rockies Resort was fantastic. The con was well spaced out with a lot of room for vendors and patrons alike. This made shopping a more pleasant experience than any con we’ve previously attended. Announcements reminded people to keep moving and not block the isles. This is probably due to COVID, but it made shopping a relaxed experience. The gigantic nature of the hotel also gave a lot of space for photos and video, not to mention the incredible beauty of the hotel made for some epic backdrops.

2.The cosplayers were dope! In line with our previous NDK experience, this year we saw some amazing cosplays.  Giant armor, costumes with stilts, moving wings and light up effects were everywhere. In addition, intricate embroidery and some very clever ways to incorporate masks into a cosplay were some highlights. We captured a handful of the great cosplays in our video. We didn’t catch ’em all, but, like Pokémon, it was sure fun trying!

3. The atmosphere was so positive. I’m not sure if it was because of the lack of cons in 2020 or just a great group of people, but every interaction we had at NDK this year was delightful.  When we checked in for our press passes, they even gave our daughter a “junior reporter” kit with pen and notepad, which was so plus ultra and made her day! People struck up friendly conversation in lines, staff of the hotel interacted and some even dressed up, and everyone looked like they were having a grand time. This made taking video such a fun experience.

For the first time in forever, the magic of NDK was at the Gaylord.  This certainly won’t be Get Geekish’s last time at NDK. We can’t wait for next year!
